During the visio-consultation, Dr. Quinodoz will use an ultra-modern computer imaging program to visualize the results of a procedure from your photos. He will provide you with his specialist’s comments so that you can make an informed decision.

    Face treatments

You can see on our site examples of results from before and after photographs of patients who have kindly given their permission and consent for publication. Our goal is to help you in your process. However, please keep in mind that every man and woman is different and the results will depend on your specificity.

“– I am very proud to present the unretouched pictures of my surgical results, taken from patients who gave me without any hesitation permission to share these before/after pictures with you.
Of course, these images represent only a fraction of the many satisfied patients I have had
    the privilege of operating on.”

           Dr Pierre Quinodoz

During a first meeting, we will be able to examine your desires and consider the personalized solution that will best meet your objective, choosing the most appropriate type of facelift that varies from one patient to another. Sometimes a non-surgical treatment may be sufficient.

With age, the elastin present in the tissues decreases, causing a loss of elasticity, your face loses volume while your neck develops excess skin and muscle bands. This sagging of the face makes us look tired and sad, while inside we still feel great.

A facelift corrects this sagging face and neck and reduces wrinkles. It makes the face look harmonious and healthy!

With the evolution of surgical techniques, the plastic surgeon now has at his disposal different types of facelifts: temporal lift, cervico-facial, MACS lift, vertical lift, endoscopic lift, forehead lift…

A traditional facelift can result in visible scars in front of the ears and hair, shortened sideburns and distortion of the ear anatomy. In addition, a traditional facelift often devascularizes the skin and traumatizes the fat. Based on years of practice and experience, Dr. Pierre Quinodoz has developed his own techniques, in particular with what he calls the short scar lift or “SH Facelift”.

This facelift involves a minimum of visible incisions, without tension of the scars.
The patient can tie up her hair without seeing any scars, this technique is sometimes called “ponytail”.

The incisions are hidden and this facelift helps preserve the supple and natural appearance of the skin and facial tissues.

In addition to his short scar lift, and only in certain patients with moderate slackening, Dr. Quinodoz has developed what he calls the “Short and hidden scar Face lift” or SHS Facelift. This facelift is partly performed using an endoscope or a cold light source. It uses only minor incisions hidden behind the ears and in the hair.
The patient can tie up her hair without seeing any scars, this technique is sometimes called “ponytail”.
It avoids too visible incisions in front of the ears and along the hairline,

For an optimal result an eyebrow tail lift can be combined (see below in the text) with non-surgical treatments of the skin of the face and neck by peeling, plasma, micro dermabrasion or laser.

Using regenerative cells, facial rejuvenation can be achieved by rebalancing the deep layers of facial tissue. Also lipostructure with “nano micro and milli fat” used by Dr. Quinodoz improve the superficial layer, texture, tone and vitality of the skin. By improving the quality of the skin, the skin will be more resistant giving a complete rejuvenated appearance of the face from top to bottom with an effect that will only improve with time.

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia with sedation or under general anesthesia. It can be performed on an outpatient basis or sometimes with an overnight stay in hospital.

Your bandage will be removed the day after the operation. A painless facial edema will last from 10 to 15 days and you will be able to resume normal activity about two weeks after the operation.

The face is similar to a “tiramisu”: it is made up of several layers and each layer is affected by sagging.

My Deep Plane Facelift method repositions without pulling, which will give natural results, allowing, among other things, to tie up hair without visible scars.

This technique is called by some “ponytail“.

For the result to be natural, it is often necessary to treat several areas of the face at the same time.
The oval, the neck, opening the eyes with a temporal lift, correcting bags and dark circles with a blepharoplasty and restoring the skin’s radiance with fat injections and nano grafts.

With fatigue and work on our computers our look changes and dark circles and bags under the eyes become visible. This makes us look tired. There are several forms of bags that can be corrected by surgical and non-surgical treatments.

Non-surgical treatments of bags and tear trough such as injections of hyaluronic acid under the eyes give very good results by reducing or removing bags under the eyes and filling in hollows, and “valley of tears” or “tear trough”.

To reduce skin coloring and restore its radiance we use light peels and PRP.

The surgical treatment of bags and tear trough treats all the different forms with as intervention :

    – Blepharoplasty
This eyelid surgery is sometimes performed without scarring by removing the bags from the inside of the eyelid.

    – Nano Grafts
The nano-transplant treatment improves the appearance of the skin of the eyelids and reduces the appearance of dark circles and the “valley of tears”.

    – Lipostructure or lipofilling
which fills the hollows of the eyelids and also the pockets around the eyelids and cheekbones.

Fat under the chin frequently persists despite dieting, resulting in a double chin effect. If you are under 40 years of age with still toned skin and blocked fat under the chin, it is possible to correct this problem with minimally invasive treatments such as liposuction. Liposuction consists of aspirating the fat blocked under your chin with a micro cannula under local anaesthesia on an outpatient basis. This light procedure has the advantage of giving predictable results and very simple after-effects.

There are also non-surgical solutions, with injections of deoxycholic acid. The deoxycholic acid will destroy the fat cells, preventing them from re-forming afterwards. This drug treatment sometimes avoids liposuction but requires several sessions and the results are less controllable than liposuction. Do not hesitate to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each technique with your surgeon. Post-treatment injections are easy to perform, but there are some transient pain and swelling that can last several days.

neck lipoaspiration and “buffalo hump” treatment

A traditional brow lift is much more invasive and can lead to hair loss, loss of sensation in the scalp, and can lead to a “surprised” look. In the eyebrow tail lift, which avoids this type of complication, Dr. Quinodoz turns and shapes the eyebrows to create a more beautiful and natural look.

We frequently use the patient’s own fat in plastic and aesthetic surgery as a natural and autologous filler to correct volume losses, whether to restore the effects of aging in the face or to correct relief after trauma or surgery.

In recent years, a major discovery has been made following the observations made on the improvement of the cutaneous texture in relation to the areas corrected by fat injection: Fatty tissue is rich in stem cells (ADSC: adipose derived stem cells). These cells have a very important role in tissue regeneration. Injected into the skin, they turn into fibroblasts and begin to make new collagen and elastin and structural proteins.

A particular fat injection technique stems from these discoveries. Recently, grease is no longer used only to correct volumes, but also to improve the texture of the skin, as has been done for a long time with mesotherapy, for example.

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia or mild sedation. The fat is removed using a cannula and a syringe. A few milliliters are needed. It is centrifuged and then passed through a microfilter to break all the fat cells and keep only the fraction rich in stem cells (Stromale vascular fraction). This preparation is very liquid and allows the surgeon to inject it with the fine needle in a very superficial layer, close to the skin, directly in the wrinkle to treat without risk of irregularity.

This exciting treatment, without the risk of significant complications, is indicated for the improvement of the texture of the skin, to diminish the fine lines of the face, to improve the appearance of a scar or to treat the tear through.

    Thread lift or tensor threads

It is a technique of placing tensor threads that contain small resorbable cones designed to pull up or support the tissue. Tensor threads are resorbable and their composition is similar to that of sutures used in surgery. They contain microscopic notches. The tensor threads remain in position in the subcutaneous tissue and form a supporting mesh. These threads are inserted through an incision in the scalp in the temporal area. They have several names: suspension threads, tensor threads or notched threads.

These have been used for a long time and are perfectly tolerated. They allow sagging tissue to be lifted in patients with the onset of facial sagging. Significant sagging (ptosis), or skin that has lost its tone, are more indications for Dr Quinodoz`s Short Scar Lift (SCL) or Camouflaged Short Scar Lift (CLL), otherwise the results may be disappointing in poorly informed patients. In this context, the experience of the doctor is essential because he will have to explain to you which is the best solution in your case: injection with hyaluronic acid, mini-lifting or possibly installation of tensor or notched wires. Ideally, your practitioner should know how to perform the whole range of interventions, both medical and surgical, without delegating, in order to advise you in a neutral way without influencing you and to propose the best choice in your particular case.

Their installation is not easy because too superficial they can be visible to the skin and too deep they can have no effect. They lead to an improvement in the face and neck with a social eviction of about 3 days. Their duration of action is quite limited with an effect that lasts between 12 and 18 months. The result depends on many parameters, the main one being the doctor’s experience: type of threads (size, material, notching, length…), quality of manufacture, number of implanted threads, positioning…

The nose is a key feature in the architecture of the face. Accordingly, every correction needs to be assessed with great care so that the result is both natural and respects the harmony of the face. One seeks to “adapt rather than to modify”, and “to refine, rather than reduce”. The least possible intervention makes for the most aesthetic outcome: a subtle balance to achieve.

Rhinoplasty means changing the morphology of the nasal pyramid, working on both the bone and cartilage of the nose.

Thanks to visualizing computer technology, we can check that the planned corrections that you desire achieve the optimum aesthetic result and respect your personality.

Rhinoplasty can also assist in the correction of breathing problems. In such cases, work is covered by medical insurance and can begin as early as from birth.

After surgery, the patient needs to wear a splint on the noise, like a beak made from heat shaped plastic. The procedure is rarely painful. For several days after the operation the patient needs to breathe through the mouth as the post operative swelling hinders breathing through the nose. Bruising (blueish) can appear around and particularly under the eyes but can be camouflaged with make up. Normal activity can usually be resumed within 10 days of the operation. The skin type of each patient will determine exactly when but it takes a period of several months before the final result can be appreciated, as the shape of the nose is, little by little, subtly refined.

At a first consultation we can assess your wishes and work out a personalized solution which best meets your desired objectives.

Your surgeon will be happy to discuss with you the different techniques of modern rhinoplasty such as “Rhinoplasty Preservation” and “Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty” or piezo Rhinoplasty.

The aim of blepharoplasty (aesthetic eyelid surgery) is to halt signs of ageing around the eyes and to replace a tired look with one that is rested and more relaxed. This procedure can be applied to the upper or lower eyelids.

Upper eyelids sag with time, lending a sad air to the face. Upper eyelid blepharoplasty involves the removal of excess fat, skin or muscle. At times, fat builds up around the eye with age and in these cases we perform, in essence, lipostructure of the upper eyelid. The result: a more open look, without affecting the function of the eyelids.

As the years pass, our lower lids tend to become clearer and skin texture is more refined, fine lines appear and pockets (“bags”) can form under the eyes. Gradually, rings grow around the pockets. Blepharoplasty of the lower lids involves both the surgical removal of the hernias of fat responsible for the pockets and tightening of the skin in this area which also deals with the fine lines.

These procedures, required by both men and women, are regularly performed on patients who are 40 and over. But they can also be performed much earlier when the problems are hereditary, especially when the bags under the eyes appear in young people.

As appropriate, blepharoplasty can be performed alone or in conjunction with another aesthetic surgical procedure, for example a brow lift and injections. But it must not be forgotten that other, non-surgical, treatments also exist to rejuvenate one’s look and can avoid the need for surgery.

At your first consultation, we can assess your wishes and formulate a personalized solution which best meets your desired objectives.

Lipostructure or lipofilling of the upper and lower eyelids with blepharoplasty

There are many solutions to make your lips look beautiful whether they are too small, wrinkled or droopy.

If they are too small we can correct them with hyaluronic acid injections to increase their volume, hemming and plumping. If you have small wrinkles around the mouth, which are classically called “smoker’s wrinkles” or “bar code”, they can also be treated with ultra-fine hyaluronic acid injections. We frequently combine other treatments in parallel with hyaluronic acid, such as laser or plasma, in order to prevent you from deforming your mouth with a “duck mouth” effect.

If your chin is too small there are two solutions the first is a treatment with thick and long lasting hyaluronic acid injections that will make your chin look hard exactly like a chin unlike the classic hyaluronic acids which are soft. This procedure is called profiloplasty.

It is also possible to treat a receding or small chin with a small chin implant or chin prosthesis. This procedure is called genioplasty and takes place in the operating room under local anaesthesia with light sedation on an outpatient basis.

The correction of “bat ears” requires a surgical intervention known as “otoplasty”, to remodel the pinna which are deemed to be excessively visible.

The surgery consists of correcting normally one of 3 types of anomalies in the cartilage:

    •  too great an angle between the pinna (pavillon) of the ear and the skull;
    •  over large cartilage of the conque which pushes the ear forwards;
    •  defects in the folding of the cartilage which make the pinna of the ear smooth

In the majority of cases the correction is made when the child confirms this is what he/she wishes, usually from around the age of 7. It is not necessary to operate on a child who has not expressed the need. It is sometimes the case that this operation is performed on an adolescent or adult.

The surgery can be performed under a simple, local anesthetic, deeper local anesthetic administered intravenously or under general anesthetic. Unless the stitches are dissolvable, then stitches are removed around the 10 – 12 day after surgery. The first dressing can be removed between the 3rd and 5th day and will be replaced by a lighter bandage. A headband, to contain and protect, such as a tennis headband, should be worn day and night for a fortnight following surgery, then nightly thereafter for several weeks.
